Mercatalyst is looking for extraordinary Support Engineers to work alongside the Software Engineering team in building our eCommerce sites (meh.com, morningsave.com, and future projects). You’ll play a critical role in making sure our customers receive their orders in a timely fashion, keeping our websites running smoothly, and making sure the data in our internal systems is accurate and up to date.

This key role will report to our office each day located in Carrollton, TX. This ideal for for a recent Computer Science graduate because there will be programming involved. It's not Help Desk role but rather one that will spend about 25% of time supporting end users and 75% of the time supporting our other engineers.

Your primary responsibility will be providing support for internal trouble tickets, which will involve tasks such as the following:

  • Independently verifying bug reports and fixing bugs where you’ll quickly learn about Node.js, Express, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development technologies
  • Gathering, organizing, and monitoring data from Salesforce, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, and more
  • Helping to troubleshoot issues with everything from our supply chain and warehouse management systems to our customer-facing websites hosted in the cloud on Microsoft Azure and AWS
  • Administering our Desk.com support system
  • Creating, debugging, and maintaining ETL processes
  • Maintaining and debugging our Raspberry Pi, Google Chrome OS, and Geckoboard company dashboards

You’ll be expected to learn the current and future technologies we use to build our eCommerce systems.

Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 0-1 years Programming experience
  • 0-1 years Database experience
  • Support/troubleshooting experience
