The opportunityOur IT team develop the systems Sophos relies upon to operate and deliver the products and services for which we’ve become known around the world. They are passionate and clued up on new technologies and products; always looking for ways to revolutionise how technology interacts with the user; and have a penchant for solving complex and challenging technical problems in a creative manner.

We are looking for an accomplished Technical Architect to strengthen our vibrant, agile team, working with Product Operations and technical delivery teams to design and deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for requirement checking, design, development & test governance, implementation and support of technology solutions that meet the scope and quality of customer expectations and business requirements while complying with IT development standards and architectural framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for design of project level architecture in accordance with Enterprise Architecture principles
• Organizing and capturing technical requirements and design including authoring technical design documentation and operational run book
• Collaborate with BSA and analyze business requirements and develop solutions that are achievable, acceptable and consistent with the Enterprise Architecture principles
• Participate in build design sessions collaborating with BSA and Business Stakeholders
• Govern the project development, testing, implementation and support of technology solutions, making sure it follows the design and project plans
• Participate in technical design sessions, reviewing and questioning other TAs and EAs designs across the Enterprise Architecture.
• Ensure that designs and development approaches can easily be extended and scaled without the need to re-build from the ground up and without inheriting significant technical debt
• Lead technical teams in planning, estimating and delivering work, in accordance with agreed methodologies
• Write technical specifications for enhancement requests at Epic & Feature level and large bugs
• Provide after-hours support for S1 severity bugs
• Support compliance controls and company policies within IT
• Provide advanced troubleshooting support for your supported systems, including leveraging technical tools to analyze issues

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Proven track record within an Agile Development organization, familiar with development methods
• Experienced in technical specification, design, and development of sophisticated business applications
• Experienced in Salesforce.com technical architecture standards, constraints and best practices
• Salesforce.com development languages and tools such as Apex, VisualForce, Lightning, and the Force.com platform
• Proven ability to lead, influence and mentor globally dispersed teams

Desirable

• Awareness of/exposure to operational business processes, especially Order to Cash
• Broad understanding of technical topics including integration, security, performance optimization, master data management, and mobile strategy and applications
• Salesforce.com technical certifications
