Sunbury, SE UK

There is a global challenge in Energy. Society is demanding solutions for more energy, delivered in new and better ways for a low carbon future. Through new technologies and digital innovation energy will be produced more efficiently and in new ways. Few organizations are equipped to take on such a huge global issue, but BP’s big enough to make a difference.

One of our ambitions is to become a digital leader for our sector and create a better world. We’re solving real-world problems, making change and constantly progressing. Shouldn’t you?

About the opportunity

We’ve already achieved some incredible things and explored exciting areas: blockchain, robotics and cognitive AI. Every day, we’re refining our technology so we can drive efficient and effective new business models. This is a chance to join one of the world’s most forward-thinking IT environments - and be at the heart of it all.

As a key member of our dynamic project delivery team, your passion will lie in planning and building robust and cost-effective IT solutions. Someone who stays ahead of innovation, you’ll make choices that define our IT capabilities – and the success of our business. Everything you deliver reveals your deep understanding of human need, rigorous project planning (with a short-term bias) and ability to foster strong relationships. You’re the kind of person who’s confident working across cultures, making sure everyone’s voice is heard.

Working with other Architects, product owners and Salesforce, you’ll solve problems using Salesforce platform technologies. You’ll architect a data model that provides consistency and integration and act as the design authority for Salesforce platform products in the Upstream part of our business. As Subject Matter Expert, you’ll promote the use of Salesforce products and be seen as a critical point of contact for the BP group.

About you

With a degree (or higher) in computer science, MIS/IT, maths, hard science - or the equivalent work experience – your architecture background will include real-world experience of designing and delivering IT projects. In short, you want to envisage what’s possible and make it a reality.

With functional knowledge of key technology sets, you’re comfortable diving into challenges in an innovative, agile environment. But key to your success? You do your best work in a tight-knit team that you build, develop and lead, accomplishing exceptional project outcomes as part of a respectful, supportive culture.

About your skills

These will include everything from requirements definition and management to solution architecture, technical specialism and systems integration. You’ll be a keen innovator and adept at information assurance, data analysis and database design. Any knowledge of emerging technology monitoring or user experience analysis would be a plus.
